Time for a big claim: this is by far the best game I’ve ever played on PC.
You have the best graphics imaginable, with attention to the slightest details, plus unbelievable physics that are breaking the internet with fans and gamers mumbling about them. If that doesn’t get the game to our list, we don’t know what will… oh hang on, thought of another one. Internet downloads.

Project CARS
E30 M3: check. Awesome Graphics: check. Unbelievable realism: check.
To be honest, I haven’t spent much time playing this, but enough time to know that in the near future I will be spending much time behind a console playing it.
We’ve been watching trailers for project CARS for a while now, and can state assuredly that the graphics are beyond amazing: I’ve even watched a couple of comparison videos between real life and gameplay, and it did get me confused. And yes, the focus leans more towards simulations racing than arcade, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring to play. Far from it, with a host of legendary racing machines and tracks available to (attempt) to perfect.
We really do need to invest in a PS4 for the office…

Honorable mention: Mario Kart 64
You didn’t honestly expect us to do a top 10 list and not include this, did you?
Some of you no doubt lust over the latest Mario Kart Wii or even the original Super Nintendo game, but for those of us whose university years were spent juggling GoldenEye and Mario Kart cartridges, it’s the Nintendo 64 version that gets the nod.
We’ll admit that the multi-coloured graphics could cause seizures during marathon gaming runs, that the Blue Shell which robbed us of victory on the line usually resulted in a controller being hurled with fury across the living room, and we’re not sure anybody ever truly enjoyed Rainbow Road, even if you could land the almost impossible shortcut. But the races were fun and frantic, the competition always tight, and – here’s the kicker – never, ever boring. It’s why Mario Kart 64 remains one of the best multiplayer games ever created.
