3) It’s all about lightweight performance
As we all know, the lighter the car is, the better it performs, particularly through the corners. Alpine was founded on principles of lightness by its creator, Jean Rédélé, who had a background in motorsport. From the outset, Alpine was about building light, agile sports car that relied on their lack of bulk rather than brute power to create performance. The first Alpine car, the A106, was built using glass-fibre construction, which at the time was pioneering. The lightweight ethos continued throughout Alpine’s existence and the new Vision concept also touts a low weight as a key attribute.
