This looks like it’ll be pretty special.
BMW is preparing to unveil a reinterpretation of one of its best-love machines.
The new BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage will be revealed at the very high-end Concorse d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy on May 22, but to whet our appetites, here’s a teaser pic of what it’ll look like.
Created by the BMW Design Team, it’s a tribute to the original BMW 3.0 CSL of the 1970s, built with light weight and performance in mind – the same philosophy, but with cutting-edge, modern execution.
Dynamism is the name of the game in the design of the new car, with BMW promising striking air deflectors, bulging wheel arches and a rear spoiler aping the original. As you’d expect for a lightweight, modern performance car, carbon fibre abounds.
Inside, there’s a stripped-down interior where function dictates form, but it again reflects the design of the original.
We’ll see a full gallery of pictures when the car is unveiled at the end of the month.
