A British supercar with an Italian heart.
Dean Meeson’s 1981 Series 3 Lotus Esprit is a little bit unique. The most obvious modification is the AccuAir air-ride suspension which drops the Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed wedge lower than a snake’s ankle onto the Compomotive CXn split rims (8×16 fronts and 10×16 rears).
But, as if an Esprit on air isn’t unique enough, Dean has only gone and shoehorned an Alfa Romeo V6 into the engine bay replacing the original 2.2 Lotus twin-cam inline-4. We aren’t sure if Dean is a little bit mad or a complete genius.
