Watch the new 455bhp Chevrolet Camaro SS go from zero to 100mph (160kph) back to zero again on the SkyDive Dubai runway. But can it avoid the ocean at the other end?
Before you watch the below video, it’s probably worth going over a few numbers. Powered by a 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8, the new #CamaroSix punches 455bhp and a mirrored 455lb ft (617Nm) of torque, enough to crack 0-100kph in four seconds flat and a 250kph top speed. Throw in a kerb weight of 1574kg (some 90kg down on the outgoing model) and the Camaro Six also offers an impressive 289bhp/ton power-to-weight ratio.
Now, take all that, put it on a SkyDive Dubai runway that leads directly out to the sea, and hold your breath as the Camaro SS goes from zero to 100mph (160kph) back to zero again in just 313m. Good thing those Brembo brakes prove quite handy too…
