Infiniti has released images of its brand new QX30 concept ahead of its Geneva Motor Show debut.
[Not a valid template]The QX30 concept, which will rival Audi’s Q3 and Range Rover’s Evoque when production kicks off in 2016, boasts what the company calls ‘looks beyond the practicality and conformity expected of the segment’. Those of you who remember our first drive in the QX80 may read what you like into that…
The ‘face’ of Infiniti is still distinguishable at the front courtesy of sleek headlights, swooping bodylines and a low front grille, though the small SUV shares more with its numerical namesake, the Q30 hatchback, a strong hint towards more purposeful driving. As are the carbon fibre body cladding and rugged-looking skidplates. The two also share a platform.
Though Infiniti has only confirmed ‘a wide range of powertrains’, the new QX30 is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol unit. Further details though are expected to be revealed come the model’s debut in Geneva.
