Jaguar unveils the brand new Pinarello Dogma F8 bike – yes, bike – that will take on this year’s Tour de France. Bear with us, this will just take a second…
[Not a valid template]Amidst exciting news of Jaguar’s new SUV – the prototype of which crankandpiston took for a spin in Dubai – its aluminium architecture and the brand new XE mid-sized saloon, were you aware that Jaguar has also been working on a brand new entry level model?
A hot hatch perhaps? A hybrid saloon? Maybe even a crossover SUV? Not quite…
This is the Pinarello Dogma F8, designed by Jaguar in accordance with the Italian bike manufacturer and due to be ridden competitively by Team Sky for the remainder of the 2014 season. That means Jaguar’s latest will also take on the legendary Tour de France this July, with Team Sky vying for its third event victory on the bounce.
If you’re a cycling nut then apologies, we’re not going to be very helpful here. What we can tell you though is that the new Dogma F8 is based on the existing Dogma 65.1, weighs in 9 per cent lighter thanks to its Torayca T11001K carbon fibre base, and is 26.1 per cent more aerodynamic. Wind tunnel tested after all.
Okay, that’s enough two-wheeled news. Back to reality…
