Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez has put the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR through its paces by reaching its top speed of 201mph (around 323kph) in this latest video. Filmed on a closed road in the Nevada desert, the attempt took place a stone’s throw from the home of the world’s fastest road race, the Silver State Classic Challenge.
Now while Ms Rodriguez may have gone up against the T-Virus, Milla Jovovich, invading aliens, Milla Jovovich (again) and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, that’s still no mean feat, given that Jaguar’s new F-TYPE SVR is powered by a 5-litre supercharged V8 that produces 567bhp and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque. That’s enough grunt to dispatch Rio de Janeiro’s entire police department whilst dragging a bank vault behind you (well, maybe), but also nail 100kph from standstill in 3.7 seconds.
Michelle said: “Driving this car was insane! I’ve now broken my personal speed record in the beautiful Jaguar F-TYPE SVR, and it felt amazing, the car drove really smoothly, all my corrections were minimal, I was super focused, and it really reacted in all the right ways. I don’t think I’d ever go this fast without a professional driver seated next to me, but oh man, it was an incredible feeling. It was refreshing to be able to take myself beyond my limitations, going that fast is a big responsibility but the experience in this car was more graceful than anything I’ve felt before.”
