Toyota releases a teaser clip of the new TS040 Hybrid ahead of the World Endurance Championship. Why should you care? Well…
We realise that most of you probably won’t be fans of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and so might therefore be wondering why we’re bringing you a teaser clip of Toyota’s challenger for this year’s WEC season. It’s even a hybrid, for crying out loud!
Several reasons. It’s speed at last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans proved that, whilst the beginning of the year may not have got off to the best of starts, the TS040 could still be a key player at La Sarthe this year, despite added pressure from the returning Porsche. Victory – and a decisive one at that at the season finale at Bahrain last year proved that the team is on the up and could throw some serious curve balls into Audi’s plans for a third consecutive WEC title.
But more importantly, there’s the noise.
And yes, the TS040 is a hybrid.
