‘The Stickerer’ restores an original Mk I. Volkswagen Golf GTI badge.
Following our stopover at a little known motor show in Geneva and a standard afternoon driving the new Mk. VII Volkswagen Golf on a frozen lake, there’s one new model in particular – alongside the McLaren P1s, LaFerraris, Porsche 911 GT3s and (fingers very crossed and voodoo chants at full speed) Lamborghini Venenos of this world – that we’re now very keen to get out mitts on: the new VW Golf GTI.
We’re pretty keen on hot hatches at crankandpiston – as hopefully our pieces on the Renault Clio RS, the Ford Focus ST, the MINI John Cooper Works and our top ten poll among others will have demonstrated – and news that the 227bhp GTI brute (with Performance Pack) will touch down in the region this summer has us gnashing at our respective bits.
