We’ve all seen some rather dubiously modified luxury cars around the Middle East, but we didn’t expect the manufacturers to start slapping on aftermarket stuff themselves. So eyebrows were well and truly raised at the crankandpiston office when we saw the press release from Bentley, promoting the new Continental Supersports Convertible ISR. Just check out those graphics. Oh, and the red wheels.
The ISR stands for Ice Speed Record, commemorating the 330.7kph top speed set by rally ace Juha Kankkunen on a frozen lake in Finland, behind the wheel of a Supersports. A fine achievement indeed, but does any Bentley really warrant outlandish rims and Porsche GT3-style graphics?
Just 100 of the 631bhp ISR Convertibles will be produced, and we wonder how many of the owners will decline the no-cost ISR Mulliner design package and instead opt for the more sensible, dark-tinted 20-inch wheels.
