The Jaguar XK is a stunning car and in XKR form it is well on it’s way to being an absolute monster. However, we have always thought that the potential outweighed the delivery when it came to the hardcore GT opportunity laid out in front of it. Imagine if you will the lightweight aluminium car with a half rear cage, Recaro seats, stripped out interior and the mighty Supercharged 5.0 V8 hung out front. It could be a real weapon and the thinking mans choice over a Porsche GT3 RS.
No we’ve been seeing the spy shots of a more-powerful XKR/cheeky looking XK, over the past few weeks and now thankfully the news is out: Jaguar is bringing a more powerful XKR to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and it goes by the name, XKR-S.
By the sounds of it, this new version of the XK is well on the way to being the car Jaguar needs in its portfolio. With 550 horsepower, 502 pound-feet of torque, a top-speed of 300 km/h and the ability to hit 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds excitement is rife in our office. Oh and doesn’t it just look incredible?!
Full details coming soon.
