Plenty of talk floating around about Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi these days now that a decent number of people have had a chance to drive it. Some drivers love the track to bits – mainly its variety, sense of visual awe and the feel of that rather distinctive high-grip surface. Yet for every fan it seems there’s a cautionary tale. Whispers of blind corners, too-close walls, sudden losses of grip and more than a few tales of track day heroes breaking their big boy toys in a big way. Overall it makes for quite the fix of fascinating and foreboding. I haven’t driven it yet myself but I’m getting a general sense that, as spectacular as it may be, Yas is not to be taken lightly.
